Switching up the gender roles is not the only revamp the series contains, it is set in the present day and will not be based in London. (!)

Instead Holmes is a former consultant to Scotland Yard and has just emerged from a rehabilitation centre in New York.(!!)

Now consulting for the New York Police Department, the character is living in the borough of Brooklyn with his sober friend played by Liu, an ex surgeon who lost her medical licence when a patient died.(!!!)

British actor Jonny Lee Miller stars as the unconventional (!!!!) Sherlock, in the show named after the famous phrase from the novels by Conan Doyle.

In the stories, Holmes often remarks that his logical conclusions are “elementary” (!!!!!), in that he considers them to be simple and obvious.

I’d swap point two and three, but apart from that, they sorted this nicely in order of ridiculousness.

You know, in the beginning, when the only thing we knew was that the CBS would do a modern-day Sherlock Holmes series as well, I didn’t think badly of it. I even had some hope that they’d make a decent job of this.

But all of this is too fucking much for me, especially the thing with Watson. Everything about Watson. Making him a her and I guess she’s not an ex-soldier anymore, either? And she’s lost her medical licence and fuck you, CBS.

Why don’t they just change the characters’ names and maybe the title and make this a decent show instead of … this. This bullshit.
